UltraScanner Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Rambax, LLC (“Rambax,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing the UltraScanner mobile application (“UltraScanner”). By downloading, purchasing, accessing, or using UltraScanner, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and Authority

You must have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you use UltraScanner for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization. A parent or legal guardian is responsible for a minor’s permitted use.

2. License

Subject to these Terms and Apple’s usage rules, Rambax grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use UltraScanner for lawful personal or internal business purposes. The software is licensed, not sold. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer, circumvent access controls, or create derivative works except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If these Terms conflict with a mandatory Apple term or non-waivable consumer law, that mandatory term or law controls.

3. Your Documents and Content

You retain ownership of documents, images, PDFs, recognized text, annotations, and signatures you create or import. You grant Rambax only the limited rights needed to process information as described in the UltraScanner Privacy Policy and to provide features you request.

You are responsible for having all rights and permissions necessary to capture, scan, import, store, edit, recognize, sign, export, or share content. You may not use UltraScanner to infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, contractual, or other rights or to create or distribute unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or harmful material.

4. Scan and OCR Accuracy

Automatic edge detection, perspective correction, image enhancement, OCR, page ordering, file naming, compression, and PDF generation can produce errors or omit, alter, crop, blur, misrecognize, or reorder information. Results vary with image quality, handwriting, language, lighting, document layout, device, and operating system. Review every important scan and recognized text against the original before relying on it, submitting it, deleting the original, or using it in a consequential decision.

5. Electronic Signatures and Documents

UltraScanner provides tools for placing a visual signature or annotation on a PDF. It does not verify identity, intent, authority, consent, certificate status, document integrity, notarization, witnessing, or compliance with electronic-signature law. A signature created or placed with UltraScanner may not be legally binding, acceptable, or enforceable for every transaction, court, agency, employer, financial institution, medical provider, or country.

UltraScanner does not provide legal, tax, medical, financial, compliance, or records-management advice. Confirm applicable requirements with the recipient or a qualified professional before relying on a scanned or signed document.

6. Local Storage, Passcodes, and Backups

UltraScanner primarily stores documents and saved signatures locally. Rambax does not keep a server-side copy and cannot restore local content merely because you purchased the app. Maintain current, independent backups before deleting the app, erasing or replacing a device, moving files, changing storage settings, or installing major system updates.

You are responsible for remembering and protecting any app passcode. Passcode and biometric features add an application-level access control and do not guarantee secure deletion or protection from every forensic, operating-system, backup, malware, or physical-access attack.

7. Imports, Exports, and External Storage

Imports and exports through Photos, Apple Files, iCloud Drive, email, share extensions, or third-party apps and storage providers depend on services outside Rambax’s control. Verify that an operation completed and that the destination contains a complete, readable copy before deleting an original. Third-party services may retain or process exported content under their own terms.

8. Location and Image Metadata

If you enable location access, UltraScanner may attach location metadata to camera images. You are responsible for reviewing metadata before sharing a document and for complying with privacy, workplace, confidentiality, and other laws that apply to the people, locations, and information you capture.

9. Free Features, Purchases, and Subscriptions

UltraScanner may limit the number of documents or features available without purchase and may offer one-time purchases or subscriptions for additional features, limits, or services. The app displays the applicable price, billing period, renewal terms, and trial information before purchase. Features and limits may differ by version, country, or purchase history.

Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple’s payment, family-sharing, cancellation, and refund rules. Recurring subscriptions renew unless canceled through Apple before renewal. Rambax cannot directly issue refunds for App Store transactions. Restoring access may require the original Apple Account, an Internet connection, and successful receipt validation.

10. Updates and Availability

We may update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features to improve security, reliability, compatibility, or the product. We do not guarantee that every feature will remain available on every device, operating system, or legacy app version. You are responsible for installing supported updates and maintaining compatible hardware and software.

11. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

• use UltraScanner unlawfully or violate intellectual-property, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights;
• forge, falsify, alter, or misrepresent documents, signatures, identity, authority, records, or evidence;
• capture or distribute information where photography, scanning, recording, or disclosure is prohibited;
• probe, disrupt, overload, bypass, or interfere with the app, Rambax services, security, or purchase controls;
• introduce malware or use automated means to abuse Rambax services; or
• misrepresent purchase status, entitlement, account authority, or ownership of content.

12. Privacy

The UltraScanner Privacy Policy explains how information is handled and is incorporated into these Terms.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ULTRASCANNER IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. Rambax does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, legal effect, admissibility, acceptance, or preservation of any scan, OCR result, signature, annotation, metadata, or exported file. Non-waivable consumer warranties remain unaffected.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RAMBAX AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, GOODWILL, DATA, DOCUMENTS, SIGNATURES, OR BACKUPS, ARISING FROM ULTRASCANNER OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGES ARE POSSIBLE. RAMBAX’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO ULTRASCANNER WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID RAMBAX FOR ULTRASCANNER DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR US$50.

These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law, including to liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

15. Termination

You may stop using UltraScanner at any time. We may suspend access to Rambax-operated services if you materially violate these Terms, create a security or legal risk, or abuse the services. Suspending an online service does not give Rambax access to your local documents or create a backup of local content. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in UltraScanner, law, or our business. We will post the revised Terms and update the “Last updated” date. If a material change requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it as required by law.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except to the extent the laws of your residence provide mandatory consumer protections that apply. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies you cannot waive under applicable law.
